Preliminary Information

All meetings of the Board of Education are open to members of the public unless publicly noticed as confidential as allowed by the law (Education Code §35147). Members of the public may address the Board as outlined in the Hearing Section of the agenda. All meetings are recorded and a member of the public may be held liable for any slanderous or otherwise defamatory statements. Please turn off/silence your cell phones while in the Board Room.

a. The Board has adopted Board Policy 9323(b) to ensure the public’s right to be heard in any matters pertaining to the San Marino Unified School District. We respectfully request that if you would like to address the Board of Education about any matter, you complete a “REQUEST TO ADDRESS THE BOARD” card and submit it to the Superintendent prior to the start of the meeting or to the Assistant to the Superintendent during the meeting. The President of the Board will invite speakers to the podium to address the Board during discussion of the relevant agenda item. Comments concerning matters not on the agenda may be heard at this time, but not responded to by the Board of Education. Five minutes may be allotted to each speaker and a maximum of 20 minutes to each subject matter.

Unfold 10.  BUSINESS SERVICES   
         
a. Emergency Resolution #2 - San Marino High School Baseball Field/Pool Protection Fencing         (V)  
  It is recommended that the Board adopt Emergency Resolution #2 to erect a fencing/protection system along the San Marino High School baseball field and pool areas to prevent baseballs from entering the pool and surrounding deck areas. The estimated cost, $39,061 will be funded by the District's property and liability insurance JPA.

a. Issues of interest may be discussed between the Board and Superintendent, but no action will be taken by the Board of Education.
